An experienced mortgage broker, property expert, blogger, and investor, Tayo Oguntonade regularly uses his expertise to break down complex and relevant property topics for the everyday person to understand.
He is best known for presenting the BAFTA award-winning show The Great House Giveaway (2020-) on Channel 4. In this show, two people who have never met and never owned a house are given a lump sum of money to buy a property at auction. They, with the help of Tayo, then have six months to revive the property into a habitable and desirable home, with the aim to split any profits. If it doesn’t sell, it goes back to auction.
The programme scored a hat-trick in 2022, winning best daytime programme at the BAFTAs, RTS, and Broadcast Awards, whilst Tayo himself was nominated for best debut presenter at the Edinburgh Television Festival.
He also supports and works with 2020 Change, a youth empowerment organisation renowned for helping young people realise their true potential and cultivate the right mindset to engage with today’s changing society.

Tayo Oguntonade has always had an interest in finance, and after studying economics at University, he was determined to find the best way to invest as he began his career.
Early on he took a liking to property investment, however he noticed there were barriers preventing people from getting on the property ladder. These barriers came in the form of myths, scaremongering, lack of knowledge, and constant highlighting of the problems within the UK property market without solutions. This gave Tayo an idea, and he found he could align his desire to invest in property and invest in finance by studying to become a qualified mortgage broker.
This qualification bought Tayo Oguntonade closer to the ins and outs of the property market and allowed him to buy his first property at just 22 years old. He applied a finance-minded approach to this purchase and rented out two of the rooms in his three-bedroom home to help him pay the mortgage. By following property trends and learning by experience, he has gone from strength to strength and grown to become a successful property investor.
Since then, he has dedicated his time and knowledge to helping everyone from first-time buyers, to experienced investors reach their property goals. His vibrant, fun, and charismatic style brings a fresh face to a sector that is currently dominated by a more rigid and regimented approach.
Alongside buying property, Tayo Oguntonade and his wife founded the property blogging platform, BrickzWithTipz, where his expertise and advice in property buying has reached in excess of 100,000 people.

Tayo co-hosted Channel 4 Digital’s On the Money, which achieved an audience engagement three times that of the channel’s benchmark, and was ranked in the top 3 most watched 4Studios branded content on YouTube, and most watched on Instagram.

In 2023, he joined the presenting team of Channel 4’s Key to a Fortune, a series that re-united families with homes – and relatives – they didn’t know they had.
Other appearances include Steph’s Packed Lunch (2021), The One Show (2021), Rip Off Britain (2021), Christmas University Challenge (2021), The Gadget Show (2023), BBC News, GB News, Watchdog, and Morning Live.
