He is part of the BBC Radio Cymru and Radio Cymru 2 presenting family and also fronted a Sporting magazine show on BBC Radio Wales called the Friday Night Socials for 3 years. Geraint is also the host of ‘Codi Pac’ S4C’s only Holiday programme where he travels across Wales to sample its delights from where to eat, what to do and where to stay and what kind of accommodation to stay in, Geraint is the man in the know.
The majority of Geraint’s work in TV and radio has been live and he can be thrown into any situation, they say don’t work with kids, animals and divas but Geraint has done all of the above and enjoyed every second.
He is an experienced MC and Awards host having worked on campaigns, awards ceremonies and events for the likes of UEFA Champions League, UEFA Champions League Legends Match, Principality 6 Nations and Autumn Internationals, Barclays Premier League, Miss Wales, FAW, WRU, Cardiff City Football Club, Cardiff Blues, Glamorgan Cricket, Celtic Manor Resort, Celebrity Cup, Olympic Broadcasting Service, Locog, St Davids Shopping, The Welsh Assembly – St Davids Awards to name but a few.
Geraint was also one-third of Capital South Wales’ multi Arqiva Award-winning Breakfast Show (Matt Polly and Geraint), alongside being the co-presenter on S4C’s main sports coverage on a Sunday Club. Geraint also presented and co-produced an hour long Documentary About Alcoholism, O’r Galon (From the Heart), which was aired in December 2013 on S4C and received a staggering public reaction and then went on to win a BAFTA Cymru Award.
Following O’r Galon, he filmed 3 series of S4C’s Llond Ceg which explores teen issues and was nominated for BAFTA Cymru and Bafta Kids UK.
He started his career fronting live children’s programmes, Stwnsh and Stwnsh Sadwrn, for 4 years before moving on to a live magazine programme, Tag. Tag saw Geraint interviewing Hollywood stars, UK celebrities and sporting greats, as well as discussing subjects ranging from music to sports to the latest gadgets live every week.
Following this he found himself reporting for Sportsround and Match of The Day Kickabout on CBBC where he has interviewed sporting superstars such as Ryan Giggs, Jensen Button and Chris Hoy. Geraint also presented for Sky Sports covering the UK School Games in 2009 and the Welsh School Games for S4C annually since then.
His passion for sport led Geraint to present the Olympic Torch Relay throughout Wales and several stops across the UK guiding the live stage show as the Olympic Flameworked its way around the country. He also hosted every leg of the Paralympic Torch Relay throughout the UK and was a host presenter at the Olympic Games at the Excel Centre. In his time in Capital, showbiz interviews are a weekly occurrence for Geraint, from Top 20 popstars to reality TV stars.
And he is more than comfortable chatting and grilling the stars.
