Born and raised in Southampton, Michael’s professional career began in 2008. After leaving college he took his first steps in to broadcasting with local radio and it was here he found his passion for presenting.
Previously Michael spent five years covering the world TV feed for Premier League (IMG) broadcasting to 74 countries across the globe. He hosted Fanzone in the studio and at the weekends, pitch side and around the grounds for Match Day Live & Premier League News, bringing team news and interviews from the heart of the action.
A long standing relationship with England Hockey has seen him work on an international level: Rio 2016 Olympic Game, FIH World Cup 2019, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, Euro Hockey Championships and the World League Finals along with his work with England Hockey at a national level hosting events such as the Super Sixes Finals at Wembley Arena.
Since 2012 Michael has been the match day presenter for Hampshire Cricket, the Natwest T20 Blast Plus Awards and hospitality host for the international fixtures hosted at the Ageas Bowl. In 2019 he was also a part of the match day presentation team for the ICC Cricket World Cup.
In 2014 Michael started another blossoming relationship with the LTA when he became their on court Presenter for the Surbiton Trophy. This opportunity has continued year on year and more recently includes the Aegon Classic. Michael also teamed up with the Tennis Foundation and became their on court presenter at the NEC Wheel Chair Tennis Singles Finals which he continues to present to date.
Michael has also hosted numerous other major sporting events across the world including the Champions Trophy In india 2016, European Equestrian Championships in Aachen Germany, the 2016 Hockey Champions Trophy, Gaucho International Polo Live at the O2 Arena and the Danone Nations Cup for Sky Sports.
Michael is also a published author and his book Desire Dream Vision launched in 2019. The book sits along side his talk which he delivers in schools across the UK, inspiring young people that no matter how big or small your dream is, you can make it happen. The book shares Michael’s ‘Desire Dream Vision’ philosophy and the steps he used, to go from wanting to play Premier League football to hosting it.
Charity work is something very important to Michael, he is an ambassador for Dare2Express, spreading awareness about depression, trauma and mental illness and Rose Road working with children who have multiple and complex health needs. He has also worked with the Bobby Moore Fund, hosting the red carpet for their Annual Celebrity Sports Quiz.
