Sally Lockwood is a broadcaster, presenter, and journalist who now anchors the State of the World Podcast on YouTube, from Dubai.
Sally spent eight years as an international correspondent for Sky News.
She is a seasoned journalist with years of experience on the frontlines of global events, in the studio and from the field. Sally has covered some of the biggest breaking news stories in recent history, including the war in Ukraine, the chaotic evacuation of Afghanistan, the tumultuous US elections, the Israel-Gaza war, and the early days of the pandemic.
Sally started her journalism career at IT as a researcher, before joining ITV as a producer, reporter and presenter.
During her time at the channel, she covered a range of political and current affairs stories in the UK and mainland Europe, including the migration crisis from Calais.
In 2013, she spent a year embedded with the army in Camp Bastion in Afghanistan for British Forces News.

She joined Sky in 2017 and spent almost a decade there, working on a range of programmes for the channel, including Sky News Sunrise, Breakfast, Sky News at 9, 10, and 11, Sky News Tonight, Sky Midnight, and Sky World News.
She reported on a range of current and breaking news. During her tenure at the channel, she anchored coverage from the Ukraine-Russia war, reported from Italy during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, live presented during the rescue of young footballers from a cave in Thailand, and reported from Qatar during the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
She has also been involved with a number of breaking stories from the US, including the killing of George Floyd and the subsequent Black Lives Matter campaign. She has been a prominent political presenter, reporting on US elections, Donald Trump’s impeachment, Joe Biden, and the storming of Congress, as well as the pandemic, wildfires, and other natural disasters.

In March 2025, Sally Lockwood announced she was leaving Sky and moving to Dubai to present the State of the World podcast and YouTube show along with US journalist Tara Palmeri.
