In 1989, Jo was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. She believed there had to be another option available to her than the steroid treatment she was offered so set about researching natural ways to heal her body. It was during this time she met herbalist, Gerald Green who taught Jo about nutritional healing.
After her Crohn’s diagnosis, Jo’s love of the health and wellness lifestyle blossomed. Jo started by changing the foods she ate and learnt everything she could about organic farming – her passion for all things organic quickly turned to products she used on her skin.
Struggling to find organic and natural beauty products that not only looked great, but that actually performed on the skin, Jo took matters into her own hands and launched Jo Wood Organics in 2006, which then went on to launch in USA and Canada.
Before launching her organic beauty range, Jo was a model, achieving almost immediate success after being crowned the The Sun’s Face of ’72. She worked as a model until she met Rolling Stones musician Ronnie Wood in 1977, they married in 1985. During their time together, Jo worked as his PA, as well as styling him for stage and photoshoots.
