Dan is an award-winning international correspondent who has worked for some of the largest global media organisations, including ESPN, Sky Sports, Sky News, TRT World, CGTN America and Al Jazeera.
Originally from Bristol, England, Dan has worked on some of the biggest news stories from around the world, including the George Floyd riots, terrorist attacks in Europe, immigration stories in Spain, Italy and Mexico, as well as general elections.
Dan began his career as a sports journalist, and he has now worked on every FIFA World Cup since 1998 as well as the last four summer Olympic Games. He has interviewed a host of big-name celebrities and personalities, including Richard Branson, Usain Bolt, Serena Williams, and Pelé. He has worked all over the world, and over the years, he has been based as a correspondent in London, Johannesburg, Madrid and Chicago.

Having traveled and worked in over 50 countries, Daniel knows what it is like to report from some dangerous situations. While based in South Africa, he reported from across the continent including riots in Egypt, traditional wrestling in Senegal, business stories from Djibouti as well as the Oscar Pistorius murder trial and Nelson Mandela’s passing in South Africa. A move to Spain saw him report on the various terrorist attacks in Paris and Barcelona as well as elections in the UK, France and Spain not to mention the FIFA corruption story from Switzerland. While in Chicago, his reporting has included various border stories, the George Floyd riots as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.
A key element of his work is reporting live from the scene. Whether that is from a horrific mass shooting or from outside a football stadium for a soccer match. In such extreme situations, he believes that empathy for the subject is an important asset. His skill set includes live presentations, studio anchoring, and field reporting. His focus is always on the story and on how best to tell it to a wide audience. He has presented across a wide variety of subjects… from Africa’s energy transition to new tech trends in North America.
Over the years, he has won numerous journalism awards, including New York Festival medals and Gold Telly awards. He has also delivered a number of scoops and exclusive interviews over the years. Dan has worked on location at the last four FIFA World Cups, in South Africa, Brazil, Russia and Qatar, as well as the London, Rio, Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games. Away from the camera, he has completed eight marathons, including London, Chicago, Dublin and Lisbon, as well as two ultra marathons in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
He has a greenscreen home studio, operates a Sony FX3, and is an award-winning editor in Premiere Pro.
