Alongside her on-air work, Elspeth is a music writer for Candid Magazine, contributing a weekly post to Candid’s expansive digital music section and keeping readers attuned to what’s new, sonically. Her latest venture is becoming music writer and presenter for the Metro, writing about and interviewing all the must-see bands for the summer Festivals.
Elspeth started her career as a fashion stylist at ITV This Morning, and from there she landed a role as a freelance fashion writer for Reveal Magazine and as a fashion blogger to shopping centres countrywide.
She then went on to report all the off-court action, fashion and celebrity parties from the Wimbledon Championships for Vogue magazine online styled and presented live fashion events from The Clothes Show to Britain’s Next Top Model. You can always find Elspeth sitting front row at London Fashion Week, reporting on the top trends for next season.
Her combined love with fashion and all things music has seen her hosting Gordon Smart’s infamous indie club night This Feeling and fronting the online show for The Sun, hosting Celebrity Soccer 6 as part of the role.
Last year Elspeth showed off her sporting knowledge hosting the Betsafe Premier League Football show alongside Arsenal legend Anders Limpar and ITV’s Anna Williamson.
She also hosted the Adidas campaign for the New Zealand All Blacks, interviewing the team and covering the Rugby World Cup.
With her fresh face and vivacious personality, Elspeth has also modelled for various companies, fronting commercial campaigns for companies as diverse as TMobile, Ted Baker, TGI Friday’s and McCains.
Elspeth’s talents don’t stop there as she recently completed a PGCE in primary teaching and masters in Child Development. This makes her an expert in the field of working with children as she has extensive knowledge on how children like to learn, what they enjoy and how to interact with them.
She has worked with children on various projects, styling, choreographing and presenting Fashion shows for Mothercare and other brands, working on a roadshow of Disney Channel’s Fashion Wizards, hosting the launch of Young and Pure teen beauty brand and teaming up with Michaela Strachan to co-host a live Jungle Fever animal show in shopping centre’s nationwide.
When Elspeth was 22 and in the throes of her new media career, she was struck suddenly by a brain haemorrhage and stroke, resulting from an aneurysm and left close to death.
With 3 months in intensive care resulting in open brain surgery and radiotherapy that meant she lost a lot of her hair, this is where Elspeth found her inner strength and positivity, even though being told that she would also now be visually impaired and registered disabled, she decided this would not only not stop her, she would make the most of life and spread the positivity she had found within her.
In the wake of her illness, she has been able to help other people dealing with similar brain injury and illness who have reached out to her, making their difficult journey a bit easier and becoming a source of inspiration to get better. Now, she has fought against the odds to have a thriving career.
