Laura’s career first began at the International Rowing Federation (FISA) in Switzerland where she worked at major international regattas around the world, before playing a key role in the rowing communications team at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
She then moved into journalism back in the UK, working for a regional newspaper on the sports desk, while securing her NCTJ qualification in sports journalism.
She presently lives in Spain and works for primevideosport, @btsport & @itvsport amongst others.
Since 2014, Laura has been part of a team that created Voxwomen, the first dedicated women’s cycling TV show and YouTube channel in the world. Laura is the presenter, reporter, and voiceover for the TV show, and scripts and produces her own work at the biggest cycling races in the world, including Fleche Wallonne, Tour of Flanders and La Course. The Voxwomen Cycling TV Show is in its third season and broadcast monthly on eight channels worldwide including Eurosport UK and France, TV2, Super Sport and Cycling Central.
Laura has worked extensively in cycling. Projects include presenting the highlights of the 2017 British Cycling National Women’s Road Series for Eurosport, where she was the studio host alongside Olympic champion and pundit Joanna Rowsell Shand. Other Eurosport credits include the 2017 British Cycling National Time Trial Championships and the 2017 British Cycling Cyclocross Championships.
A renowned women’s cycling commentator, Laura has voiced the highlights of the Women’s Tour of California for the past two years for NBC, as well as presenting roadside for the American sports channel’s live race coverage. She also commentated on the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge for ATV in South Africa.
She was host and commentator at the road cycling events at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, has been the speaker of the Tour de Yorkshire for the past two years, and is the co-host of Dubai Tour alongside cycling commentator Anthony McCrossan.
For the past two years, Laura has been an integral part of the live broadcast of Henley Royal Regatta, the first in history, on BT Sport. As a roving reporter, studio presenter and pundit, Laura worked alongside Mark Durden Smith and Olympic champions Matthew Pinsent and Sir Steve Redgrave.
More recently Laura has worked for IMG European Tour Productions on the new and innovative Rolex Series, presenting a live preview show called Inside the Ropes and interviewing some of the biggest names in golf for European Tour’s social media.
Laura is an engaging and vivacious event host, commentating, presenting and hosting live from the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup Final for the ECB at Lord’s in front of 26,000 fans, the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the 2015 European Games, the London to Paris Bloodwise gala dinner, the British Rowing Indoor Championships, the British Swimming Championships, the British Cycling National Track Championships, London Rapha Nocturne and many more.
Laura has contributed to BBC Radio Gloucestershire and BBC Radio 2, in discussions surrounding women’s sport, the Paralympic Games and cycling. She also writes for the Women’s Sports Trust website, The Mixed Zone, which aims to give women’s sport and sportswomen the coverage and recognition they deserve. Laura can turn her hand to writing news, opinion and feature interviews.
