Anila Dhami began her journalism journey at age 15 when she did work experience at Club Asia Radio (now Buzz Asia). She then went on to gain training and experience with Headliners, radio station LBC, local newspapers Brentwood Gazette and The Romford Recorder, and BBC Factual (Science and Horizon).
After graduating with an MA in philosophy and literature, she began freelancing as a broadcast assistant at the BBC Asian Network.
When she was just 24, Anila became a presenter for one of the biggest South Asian media companies in the world, Zee TV, with her own show Zee Companion.
She has since presented and produced programmes across TV, Radio, and online, breaking major stories like Brexit, the General Election, Grenfell, and the Westminster terror attack. She has also hosted live debates on the day’s topic and interviewed many inspirational people, including MPs, industry experts, celebrities, and real members of the public.
Anila is passionate about creating a well-informed electorate, promoting gender equality, and furthering the evolution of humanity.
Anila has worked across renowned networks, interviewing inspirational and influential people. She presents and produces compelling, innovative and thought-provoking content, asking the questions people want answers to and giving a voice to the underrepresented.
Completely unfazed by celebrities, she interviewed Will Smith, Rose McGowan, Boris Becker, Lizzy Cundy, Amir Khan, and John Snow.
