Lizzie Deignan

Lizzie Deignan MBE, née Armitstead, is a World, Commonwealth and National Champion road Cyclist, Olympic silver medallist, and winner of the 2021 Paris-Roubaix Femmes.

Aptly nicknamed ‘Elizabeth the First’ by the media at the 2012 London Olympics, Lizzie put in a gutsy performance through the pouring rain, to finish just behind Marianne Vos in the women’s road race, winning the first British medal of the home games. This medal, and her other achievements, positioned Lizzie as one of the best female road cyclists in the world.

In 2017, she released her book Steadfast: My Story, a look into her career as a track and road cyclist, how she weathered the storm after missing a drugs test, how she has excelled as a female in a male-dominated sport, and the sacrifices she has had to make to reach her dizzying peaks of success.

Lizzie Deignan is in wide demand for corporate appearances, especially after her recent success from 2020 onwards. Frequently booked as a keynote speaker, Lizzie offers insights into her career successes and troubles, and provides advice on achieving peak performance.
