Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon is best known for being the co-founder of Stemettes, an initiative dedicated to inspiring young women to join STEM industries. Since its inception in 2013, they have promoted panel events, mentoring schemes and hackathons, reaching in excess of 50,000 young people across Europe. She also launched the Stemettes STEM Resources app which is used by thousands of school-age children.

Having experienced a lack of gender and race diversity in her own career, Anne-Marie Imafidonleads workshops, speaking engagements and events that educate the next generation of women and underrepresented ethnicities on the potential of a job in STEM. She also acts as a consultant for corporate clients and government organisations, a testament to her far-reaching popularity and expertise.
Anne-Marie also co-founded the Outbox Incubator initiative, the world’s first tech incubator for teenage girls. It provides funding, intensive mentorship and support to talented young women aged 22 or under, who have innovative business and technology ideas. To date, the initiative has awarded over £30,000 in funding to these ideas.
Since founding her own company, Anne-Marie has taken on several other ventures including being a member of the board for the DCMS Digital Skills Partnership and hosting her podcast, Women Tech Charge. This podcast is a series of candid, funny and inspiring conversations with female inventors and entrepreneurs. They are stories of eureka moments, successes and failures, passions and ideas, which will inspire listeners to take charge of their dream.
2017 saw Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon featured among the top 50 most inspiring women in tech by Inspiring Fifty (an accolade she received again in 2018). In recognition of her significant influence and achievements, she was awarded an MBE in the 2017 New Years Honours for services to young women and STEM sectors. Later that year, she was also made an honorary fellow at Keble College, Oxford. She also has honorary doctorates from the Open University, Glasgow Caledonian, Bristol University and the University of Kent, and is a visiting professor at the University of Sunderland.
