Phil’s had a successful stint on the radio since he was eighteen, starting out on BBC Radio 5. From there, he has gone on to host live radio shows from NASA and from the Arctic Circle. Since 2023 he has been working for Nation Broadcasting Ltd, first as a radio presenter and then a radio host on Greatest Hits Radio.

He’s also had vast television experience, including hosting his own live TV show for Bay TV. He also presented the nightly magazine show The Tonight Show with Phil Hoyles which included studio guests live transatlantic video calls and pre-recorded public Vox Pops.

Phil also hosted the science and tech series What On Earth? a magazine show that ran for three seasons on ITV Wales.  The show looked at everything from Astronomy and cars, to video games and hi-tech gadgets.

He is the host of the Let’s Talk…50+ podcast; he chats to experts in the field, providing insightful conversations about life after 50. Topics of interest include ageing gracefully, healthy lifestyles, embracing new opportunities, traditions, technology, cruising, hormones, and medical problems.

Phil has welcomed guests including Toyah Willcox, Helen McGinn, Jason Bradbury, Manon Lagrève, and Dame Kelly Holmes.

More recently, Phil has made his way into voicing audiobooks. His first release ‘Fear The Dead 2’ releases on Audible, Apple and Amazon, this Summer.

Phil is also a trained Counsellor and has a strong background in Business Banking with a Degree in Business and Finance.

He also has a passion for movies, both having worked at a multiplex through college and hosted a Movie Review show on the local television network ‘Box Office.’
