2014 was a stand-out year for this young East London sprinter. At the Commonwealth Games, she ran the starting leg for the 4x100m relay team winning a bronze medal.
After this success Asha moved on to the European Championships, running the lead leg in the 4x100m team that not only won Gold but also broke the 34-year old British record in a time of 42.25. Just 11 days later Asha led the relay team off at the Zurich Diamond League event and broke the National Record yet again lowering it to 42.21.
All of this comes after Asha, a former world champion on the double-mini trampoline, ruptured the cruciate ligament in her right leg and was informed that she would never compete at an elite level in either sport again. Asha defiantly pushed through this challenge, and the subsequent results speak for themselves.
As a leading British female sprinter, Asha had great success at the 2016 Rio Olympics, when she was part of the 4x100m relay team that set a new British Record on their way to a Bronze Medal.
A charismatic and energetic personality Asha is sure to continue to be a name to look out for in the coming years.
