With the entire event taking up most of the weekend it culminated in the final dinner and awards which Craig anchored in his customary professional style interlaced with his usual wit and humour.
There were nearly 90 winners to get through in 90 mins with many exotic names Craig had to pronounce correctly and which thanks to his stagecraft ran bang on time. He said:
What a pleasure and honour it was for me to host the awards in Monaco, celebrating the year’s best riders from the many disciplines from around the world.
Held in a beautiful theatre in of the most beautiful places on earth the stage was usually filled with the likes of Elton John or Mariah Carey. This time they got me and an amazing house band to honour motorcycling elite.
Hosting awards is always an incredible pleasure and obviously, I coped well slumming it in Monaco!
Plaudits came from far and wide:
I just wanted to send you a special thank you to Great British Presenters and hope you will deliver them to Craig as well.
He did absolutely super work! We were really happy to have him and the feedback we have received of him as master of ceremony has been great!
In particular, the staff and crew members also wanted to highlight that it was very easy to work with him, he was patient and humble and they appreciated it a lot.
And another…
Craig, you were great!
It’s not easy to arrive in a new world and entertain its biggest event! You were dynamic, professional and invested:-)
I like it when my suppliers are happy to be there as much as we are. The feedback about you is very good and there is every reason for you to come back again!
Hard-working as ever, Craig’s diary meant he got little sleep after the event, having to fly straight back to London for the SKY premiere of the film ‘1917’
