Presenter Profile

Charlie S London Based British Presenter at Great British presenters

Growing up in Sutton, Surrey, Charlie always knew he was going to entertain in one way or another. At the tender age of eight, he won a national search to find Jongleurs UK’s Funniest Kid in Stand Up Comedy. He went on to gig at many venues across the country – including Jethro’s Club, Cornwall and The Irish Pub, International Drive, Florida – all before he reached ten years of age.

Charlie spends most of his time at The Colour House Theatre, Merton Abbey Mills, SW19. After just one audition he was cast as Aladdin in their 2011 Christmas Pantomime – his theatrical debut – which begun an ongoing affinity between the two. During his time as an actor at The Colour House, Charlie starred in a record-setting eight productions and four consecutive pantomimes. He has played Aladdin, Scarecrow in Wizard of Oz, Robin Hood, Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk and Prince Charming in both Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, before becoming the in-house director, taking the reins on five productions – also writing the 2015/16 Season – and introducing the company to many innovative changes, gaining great reviews.

He also wrote and directed plays for the venue and produced many cabaret nights, both using students from local schools to give them the experience of performing in a professional theatre, before leaving school. Charlie now works behind the scenes as the theatre manager.

Although Charlie loves acting and directing he has a natural flair for presenting and is most comfortable when breaking the fourth wall. Charlie has presented countless live cabaret nights and events, plus online series’ and he now hosts a weekly radio show for Radio St. Helier. He is able to turn his hand to different styles of presenting depending on what the job needs. He loves live events and his unique charm makes him prefer at ‘drumming up a crowd!’ His training in children’s theatre makes him great with kids, but also confident with adults and all ages. Charlie is most proud of being the Master of Ceremonies at Mitcham Carnival for the past six years. He works voluntarily for Merton Council to book every single act for the main stage, before presenting them to 20,000 local people on the day.
