Presenter Profile

Martin TV Presenter at Great British Presenters

Travel presenter, history presenter, children’s presenter, weather presenter….Martin has many strings to his bow as a presenter.

His varied and diverse career as a presenter has given him ample experience in location work, live television and events.  From children’s presenter for CBBC’s ‘Playdays Live’, to travelling across the UK and France as a writer and presenter of over 200 travel programmes, Martin’s experience was varied from the beginning.  He embarked on his career as a presenter following graduating from London’s Academy of Live and Recorded Arts and initially starting out as an actor where he secured both on stage and on screen roles (including BBC’s Eastenders, Channel 5 legal series ‘Wing and a Prayer’, comedy-drama ‘Hooked on a Ceiling’, stage adaptation of ‘The Railway Children’ and playing title role in ‘Billy Liar’).

With his true passion being his fascination with history and the natural world since early childhood, Martin combined this with his experience as a presenter to deliver hands-on history programmes.  These include delving into the history of Derbyshire’s Peveril Castle in ‘History File’ and looking at the past of retail in ‘To Market’.  In addition, Mark was writer and presenter of a history-of-the-home strand for over 50 episodes of property programme, ‘Homesearch’.  Other historic documentaries that Mark has fronted as presenter include programmes about the Queen’s Jubilee and London’s Docklands for the interactive displays at the Museum of London.   His work in live television was truly established from 2004 to 2007 when he worked as presenter of Sky’s ‘Yes TV’.

Taking his live presenting experience to the stage, Martin has been compere for numerous live events, including the RHS Hampton Flower Show and the Ideal Home Show), been entertainment reporter for Guardian Media’s Channel M newsroom, as well as appearing in pantomime.

As a voiceover artist, he has provided voices for both villain in ‘Doctor Who’ and steam trains in ‘Thomas the Tank Engine Live'.

He is also a Met Office trained weather presenter and regular guest reviewer for BBC Berkshire Debbie McGee Show.

Martin is an accomplished presenter whose experience of live and recorded television, radio, studio and location work can be transposed to any corporate project.
