East meets West....Nadira was born in the UK and has spent her life travelling the world. She feels that her mixed roots are responsible for creating her contradictory personality. She is a product of immigrant parents and feels that she has been allowed to grow-up with the best of both worlds. The strong family values and a sense of entrepreneurial business from the East, mixed with an extreme sense of adventure and an urge for exploration from the West.
Her training comes directly from the BBC. She has presented many programmes including Youth Magazine programmes, Breakfast Shows and Dance music programmes, reported across the many platforms that the BBC has to offer and considers herself to be a serious journalist with a wild streak! Her obsession with travelling, passion for adventure, extensively diverse journalistic experience and a desire for discovering stories, makes her naturally inquisitive. Her life in front of the camera and behind the microphone has allowed her to test many a mean machine, work alongside the military, interview numerous celebrities, have an insight into real people and real lives and she feels that she is truly privileged in the work that she does.
Nadira is a highly experienced TV and radio presenter and journalist and an occasional actor, featuring in BBC Drama production – “Candy Cabs” and the Samsung Galaxy advert involving a raft of famous footballers. Nadira has a very diverse professional background. She is a qualified lecturer who has taught TV & Radio Production and has developed and delivered several courses for the Welsh Assembly Government, Royal Navy and many Corporate Companies, so understands training particularly well.
As a journalist she has worked widely for various sectors of the BBC on both national and regional programmes that include: Woman’s Hour, You & Yours, The Message, Westminster Hour and Broadcasting House for BBC Radio 4; BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Wales, BBC Three, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Asian Network, BBC News and BBC Drama. Other broadcasters that she has presented and reported for include ITN Productions, IPSTV, Arise Networks and Motorvision.
She can currently be seen presenting several programmes across the world on an international motoring channel called Motorvision HD, broadcasting on SKY in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, OSN in Dubai and on other digital platforms across Africa, Asia and Europe. She recently worked as a news reader for 24/7 News Channel Arise TV and has worked as a reporter for a number of digital news platforms. Nadira says that one of her most memorable jobs was working for Aardman Animations. Hours and hours of interviews led to a lot of laughing and she is particularly proud of her work for Creature Comforts.
Nadira continues to work as a presenter/journalist/newsreader for international broadcasters and corporate companies often interviewing CEOs and very senior personnel. Companies include Flybe, Millicom and Tesco. In addition to her broadcast career, Nadira’s media training career has taken her on a very different journey as a specialist Islamic journalist for the Ministry of Defence, which has allowed her to follow soldiers through their training around the world, before deployment. She’s experienced many a challenging environment and has built a reputation for asking tough political and cultural questions. Nadira has a proven track record of using her presenting skills across the media spectrum and is the perfect choice for any video.
