Georgie, a warm and dynamic presenter & broadcast journalist with over 15 years experience in television and radio, 8 years with the BBC.
Met Office trained and a highly recognisable face in the south of England in her position as weather anchor for BBC South on BBC1. Georgie was then given her own live weekly entertainment slot “Going Out” as well as presenting BBC Children in Need for the south for three successive years.
With a lifelong yearning to work for the BBC, her first foray into life at the Beeb was in 1999 when she was a researcher for BBC London’s Children in Need and assistant floor manager for the live show at Heathrow. Five years later in 2004, she became the weekly arts and entertainment contributor on Jo Anne Good’s late show on BBC Radio London as well as co-hosting the Saturday morning breakfast show in 2005. In 2006 she joined BBC South as the regional TV weather presenter. She presented Children in Need in 2006, 2007 & 2008, the latter included flying to Geneva with Pudsey Bear, no mean feat! She was a RTS “TV Personality of the Year” nominee in 2008. Before this, Georgie worked at ETV’s London TV where she was the presenter and producer of “What’s On”, a daily listings show for London. She also produced and presented several other strands including “Georgie Meets”, “Missed it Missed out”, “My London” & “Day Trippers”.
She co-presented the London Tourism awards at the Natural History Museum in 2004. As well as working for the BBC, Georgie has worked for an array of digital TV channels and radio stations including BBC Radio Solent, BBC Radio Berkshire, BBC Radio Oxford, BBC Three Counties and BBC Radio Sussex. She has accrued hundreds of hours of live experience – both OBs and studio – and is equally competent in prerecorded work.
