SUMMARY:Movember
DESCRIPTION:What is ‘Movember?’\n\nMovember is an annual event that occurs every November. During this time\, men grow moustaches to raise awareness of men’s health issues.\nBy encouraging men to grow moustaches\, Movember aims to increase early detection\, better knowledge and improved treatment of things such as prostate and testicular cancer\, mental health issues and men’s suicide.\nSince its inception\, Movember has raised over £400 million thanks to almost 7 million “Mo Bros” participating—not bad considering there were only 30 participants the first year.\n\nFacts! \n\n1 in 4 men admit to never having checked themselves for testicular cancer\nAlmost half of all men regularly forget to check themselves for testicular cancer\n47% of men with a mental health problem have never raised it in the workplace\nMen account for ¾ of UK deaths by suicide\nGlobally\, on average 1 man dies of suicide every minute of every day\nMen are dying on average 4.5 years earlier than women thanks to largely preventable/treatable reasons such as prostate or testicular cancer\, and mental health difficulties\n\n  \nFind the best Inspirational Movember Men’s Health Speakers.\nOver the past decade\, the highest suicide rates each year have been in working-age males. Employers must create a safe workplace to provide their staff with the best mental and physical health support possible. We have a large team of male mental health speakers who are willing to share their stories about mental health\, suicidal thoughts\, and physical illnesses such as cancer. \nFeatured Speaker – Clive Branson\nThe last few years have been an astonishing period for Clive Branson\, who’s no stranger to the isolation mental and physical health can bring. Having been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2017 and Prostate Cancer a year later\, Clive has battled more than most. And although the last five years have been rather eventful for Clive and his family\, his philosophy now is simple – not to allow daily challenges to define him.  Today\, Clive’s mission is to actively demonstrate that we do have the ability to overcome adversity. Resilience\, Hope and Positivity are crucial words in his vocabulary\, and the next chapter of his life will be met with stoicism and a smile.  Clive is the epitome of an ‘inspirational speaker.’ \n \n  \nSearch all of our leading Men's Health Speakers\n  \nRelated Articles\nhttps://greatbritishspeakers.co.uk/news/mens-mental-health-roman-kemp/ \n  \nDiscover our International Men’s Day Speakers – 19th November 2025\n \n  \nThe best Movember Men’s Health Speakers on our Podcast\n\nClive Branson | Overcoming Adversity\, Disability \nBen Smith | LGBTQ+ Anti-Bullying & Endurance\nAndrew Pain | Domestic Violence Isn’t Gendered\nAlex Staniforth | Mind Over Mountains Men’s Mental Health\nDave Walsh | World’s Strongest Disabled Man\nSteve Carr | ‘Losing Myself to Find Everything’ – Suicide Awareness\n\n \nListen to the Podcast!\nChats with some of the UK’s leading Speakers… \nWelcome to the Great British Speakers Podcast Series\, where we connect you with the UK’s top keynote speakers\, business leaders\, athletes\, mental health advocates\, and more.
